Homebrew idea

An article in Radcomm, RSGB's magazine, tells how to make a DIY broadband RF choke for HF frequencies. These devices can be a help in fixing problems with RFI and feedline radiation.

Find a source for junked monitors and scavenge the deflection yoke from around the CRT neck CAREFULLY, so you don't break the tube. The article recommends 5 turns in one direction around the ferrite core, then through the middle across the core to the other side for 5 more turns. That will keep the starting point and finishing turn as far apart as possible. { Tnx RadCom, Feb \rquote 04, p. 54,55)
