Field day will be at Rock Bridge again this year (greatplace) but John, N0EG, might try to get a shelter this year.

Also a quick note, We have found out that through the efforts of Tom Mills that Ameren UE has given us a sum of $300 to further our efforts in service to the community.

Hamfest information:

Things are starting to come together. We now have a "snack wagon" which Bill, KC0ACS has volunteered. John Smith and also volunteered his daughter to make an inside sign-- talk about getting your family involved and also his daughter and wife to help serve food. So far we have four for consessions since Jim said his wife would also help. What is needed now is four signs for the roadways. They need to be about 2 foot by 4 foot with a white background and large letters. We are also checking in getting some 8 foot tables, need about 20 or thirty more. In case you didn't come to the meeting the State Director wants the hamfest advertised as the State Convention. Be sure and set August 26th as a day to help.

DUES are due.

VE CORNER

Just one thing for the newsletter. The restructuring has brought an influx of new and "old" people back into ham radio.  This could be bad or it could be good depending on elmers.  We must do our part to insure new hams learn the correct procedure of ham radio.  Don't run anyone off just because they don't have code or just because they are old or just    because------.  We are all here so let us do the best we can with the what we have.  In times of emergency's the more that can pass information the better. As far as testing, please please please when you are going to take a test bring copies of everything, CSCE's, icense and whatever else you think we might need. As of right now it is taking about 4 weeks to receive   anything from FCC. The next testing session will be May 22nd at the club station. We will no longer give test at the club meeting  unless something can be set up at least one month before. See you at the club meeting.
