VE Corner

Well everyone has heard about the restructuring of ham radio as we know it. There will be no loss of privileges but we will be losing Technician Plus and Advanced classes. The classes that will be dropped will not be automatically upgraded but will not lose any privileges, they will retain their current privileges until the upgrade. If there are any questions please let me know and I will try to get you an answer. Remember if you are going to take a test please bring a copy of any CSCE along with the original, a copy of your current license plus current license, a photo ID and $6.65. Tests are given on the third Monday of the month at the club station.

After April there will be only one code test ( 5 WPM )

Classes will be Technician, General, and Extra Class.

Amateur Radio can be only as good as we make it. Get active, try new modes, improve

our skills and knowledge, invite a friend to the club radio station.

Checked my logbook, made over 140 HF contacts for 1999 thats up from

57 for 1998. Hoping to make 2000 even better. How about you?
