Roger Volk, KØGOB, has announced that the Missouri Emergency Packet
Network (MEPN) is now operational and available for use by all Amateurs.
User Instructions have been posted at www.mersweb.org/userinfo.htm. Rick,
KCØPET, has a station set up in his office at MoDOT's headquarters, Shannon,
WD0AFP, has a station set up in the MSHP GHQ Radio Shop and Jim, WAØBER, has
a station set up in SEMA's office. Tom, NØSS, and Roger have discussed the
options to obtaining "permanent" callsigns for these and other agency
stations in the Jefferson City area. This accomplishment is due to the hard
work of lots of Hams, But Roger and George Schindler, WBØIIS, are at the top
of that list. Roger emphasized that it is now time to expand the MEPN to
cover more of the State.
